Undoubtedly, the best way to start a trip to Granada is by visiting its most recognized site: the Alhambra. The huge monumental enclosure is usually visited completely in a full morning (approximately 3-4 hours). Depending on the interest you have, the visiting time may vary, but we recommend the Complete Guided Tour. In this visit, accompanied by an official guide expert in the monument, you will visit all the corners of the Alhambra, which will be explained in a pleasant way but with all the necessary details to know this Nasrid jewel.
Once the visit to the Alhambra, which we recommend in the morning, you can have lunch in the surroundings of the monument or move to the historic center to enjoy some of the tapas bars, very typical in the city. In the area of the Plaza Mariana Pineda, Plaza Nueva or the Carrera del Darro is where some of the best places to eat are located. Another option is to enjoy an authentic Nasrid menu in the surroundings of the Alhambra.
After lunch, we recommend to take the Free Tour Granada Imprescindible: Historic center and lowe Albaicín. On this tour you will see the must-see places in the historic center such as the Cathedral, the Plaza de las Pasiegas or the Alcaicería and part of one of the most popular neighborhoods, the Albaicín. Undoubtedly, it is the best option to spend the afternoon touring some of the most popular spots in the Nasrid capital. This Free Tour is also available in the morning.
If the city of Granada also stands out for something, it is for the amount of mysteries and legends that its streets possess. For all those interested in this type of stories and histories we recommend the option of taking the Free Tour of the Dark Granada: Mysteries and Legends. In this Free Tour you can visit some of these mysterious stories in addition to the various legends linked to corners of the city.
The best option for dining is to head towards the historic center. Plaza Mariana Pineda and Plaza del Campillo Bajo are two of the spots where you can find some of the best bars and restaurants in town.
A trip to Granada cannot be considered complete without visiting two of its most popular neighborhoods worldwide. The Albaicin and Sacromonte are the two most popular neighborhoods of the city. The former has streets that transport us to the Andalusian period, with several viewpoints and squares overlooking the Alhambra and the entire city. Sacromonte is famous for its cave houses, unique constructions in the world. Also, it is a flamenco neighborhood, where you can feel perfectly this traditional art.
Undoubtedly, the best way to visit these two parts of the city is through the Free Tour Unesco Heritage neighborhoods: Albayzín and Sacromonte, in which accompanied by an official guide you can learn more about two of the most popular neighborhoods in the world. This Free Tour, available both in the morning and in the afternoon, is undoubtedly a must if you visit Granada.
For lunch we recommend, in addition to the areas mentioned above, any of the restaurants and bars in Calle Elvira. Also, if you prefer, you can go to Plaza Bib-Rambla, where you can also find many cafes where you can enjoy some good churros with chocolate or a coffee.
If in the morning you visited the Albayzín and Sacromonte we recommend visiting the Realejo in the afternoon-evening. This neighborhood, the old Jewish quarter of the city, has some of the most photographed streets and squares of Granada. For this, it is best to take the Free Night Tour of Granada, which mainly covers the neighborhood of Relajo, as well as highlights of the historic center such as the Cathedral. Once the Free Tour is over, you can stay in the Realejo and have dinner in the area of Calle Navas or Plaza Campo del Príncipe, where there is a varied gastronomic offer.
Throughout this day you can enjoy a Flamenco Show in Natural Cave or a Flamenco Show in a tablao in Granada. In both cases you can approach a unique and special art in the city of Granada, land of zambra, flamenco and tablaos and caves. The latter, located in the Sacromonte neighborhood, are unique natural spaces in the world where flamenco is felt in a particular way.
