Seville is connected to the main cities of Spain through the High-Speed Train (AVE) lines, and its airport is one of the country’s most important. Additionally, it has a fast urban transportation system that connects all corners of the Andalusian capital.
Here are some useful recommendations for getting to and getting around Seville.
Traveling by car provides great independence to organize your trip to Seville. The city is well connected, whether coming from the northern part of the peninsula, the Mediterranean coast, or the central part of the country. The A-45, A-92, and A-4 are some of the roads that lead to the Andalusian capital. Moreover, Seville has several parking facilities where you can leave your car. You can check rates and schedules here.
Undoubtedly, if you want to travel quickly and comfortably from virtually anywhere in the country, we recommend taking the train or AVE. The train station is located very close to the historic center, about 15 minutes from the Cathedral. You can check schedules and availability here.
Another option is to arrive in Seville by plane. With both international and domestic connections, Seville Airport is one of the country’s main airports. You can check schedules and flights here. Once you land in Seville, you can reach the city center by taxi or by taking a bus from the EA (Special Airport) line, which operates throughout the day.
Finally, you have the option of arriving in Seville by bus. This is the slowest but also the most economical option. ALSA is the transportation company that operates the routes, and there is a wide availability of schedules and routes that you can check here.
Getting around Seville is quite easy thanks to its good public transportation network. It’s worth mentioning that if you are in the historic center, the distances are not very long and can be easily covered on foot.
Traveling by bus is a good option if it’s not during rush hour when traffic may cause the service to be slower than expected. The price of a single ticket is €1.20, and you can buy it directly on the bus. If you plan to use public transportation often during your visit to Seville, we recommend the 1-day tourist card for €4.50 or the 3-day card for €8.50. You can check fares, schedules, and lines here.
Another option is the metro. Currently, there is only one line that connects the metropolitan area with the historic center and Nervión, a commercial and leisure area. The price of a single ticket is €0.82, and there are also the options of purchasing multi-trip passes. You can check schedules and fares here.
Finally, you have the option of getting around by taxi. You can find more information here.
